It is with great pride as we announce John Gillespie as our newest honorary contributor to AutoTechnician.org this week.
John’s 33 plus years of technical experience combined with his technical writing, daily hands-on work in his own shop, being a CTI technical instructor and hosting the morning radio show in Beaver, PA called the “Saturday Morning Mechanic” on 1230 AM WBVP and 1460 AM WMBA, all make for a well rounded professional to help grow our organization. Learn more about John Gillespie here.
John invited me to call into his radio show this Saturday (1230 AM WBVP and 1460 AM WMBA) between 7 and 8am to chat about AutoTechnician.org a little. Listening back on podcasts of the show, you can tell John is passionate about what he does. He really cares about his listeners and wants people to know what he knows. It’s this passion that makes up the soul of a real professional technician.
Our honorary contributors play an important role with this organization. One such contribution is the tedious, daunting task of test question creation and proofing. Unlike most traditional certification testing in the auto repair industry, we base our test primarily on diagnostics – the most difficult area of auto repair. We feel that a strong diagnostic ability in a technician is a true measure of the most sought-after professional and the hardest person to find – for customers and shop owners alike.
We couldn’t be more happy having John with us. Please welcome him by leaving him a comment here or stop into our forum.
